Plate up for Glasgow
Alston is delighted to be part of Plate up for Glasgow, which is a campaign that aims to highlight the issue of food waste and its impact on climate change.
Our chefs have always been focused on reducing food waste and have created an additional starter dish that will be available from 12 October - 12 November.
Starter: Diamond steak with potato skin bhaji and coriander stem chutney
This dish is particularly low waste since the Diamond cut is a relatively new cut of beef, not normally known to customers. It has beautiful subtle flavours and when treated and cooked well, this steak resembles a fillet or single muscle rump.
The potato skins are left over from the mash within our a la carte menu while the coriander stems come from coriander used in garnishes.
We will only have limited number of portions available on a daily basis so when its gone, its gone!
